Introduction of Alcohol at Starbucks Poses a Threat to Alcoholics

Alcohol at Starbucks

Is Alcohol a Good Addition to Starbucks?

At one Illinois Starbucks alcohol is sold alongside their ever popular coffee. However, as “cool” of a marketing plan that Starbucks thinks this is, the selling of alcohol in these coffee shops may cause problems for many alcoholics. Alcoholics will no longer need to visit their usual drinking ground to get an alcoholic drink. With the presence of alcohol at this popular coffee shop, many alcoholics will abuse alcohol even more. Also, for those in treatment, Starbucks won’t be a safe place anymore.

The suburban Starbucks offers alcoholic beverages after 4pm, daily. “Starbucks Evenings,” the official name of the campaign, is offered in several Starbucks’ stores across the country. Drinking coffee is just as social as drinking beer or wine at a bar or a trendy restaurant. This introduction of alcohol to Starbucks poses a threat to both people who abuse alcohol and people who are in recovery.

If you or a loved one feels that they can not control their urge to drink alcohol in a variety of different settings, then you may need to seek treatment at an alcohol rehab center. At Recovery Connection, counselors understand the struggle of alcohol addiction. Call 866-879-6715 and get linked to a quality alcohol treatment center today.
