For addicts in recovery it is not uncommon for a relapse to start in a doctors office. If you are in recovery it is important to be upfront with any treating physician. The sooner that you let a doctor know that you are in recovery from addiction the better off you will be. When it comes to relapse prevention it is best to avoid anything that might tempt abuse. It doesn't get much more tempting then getting a prescription from a doctor.
