Craving and obsessing over alcohol have taken many down the path of relapse. It important for the alcoholic in recovery to learn that if he or she does not talk about the cravings that they are experiencing then it is quite possible they will eventually succumb to having a drink. If they don't succumb it could make for a miserable time in recovery. We get clean and sober to be happy, not to be miserable.
