UK says NO to Bars Promoting Binge Drinking
Posted by: Sobriety Diva In: Alcoholism| Videos| Women's Treatment Programs
Tonight after work I am going to a local comedy club with some friends.
As always I went to purchase my tickets online. (The diva in me does not like lines.)
As I clicked through to the final screen in big bold letters I see:
Please note: There is a two-drink minimum
*sigh* *grumble*
I am a big fan of Shirley Temples so I know what I will be drinking but is it really fair to impose those requirements. If I am a recovering alcoholic, does that mean I shouldn’t gain entrance to a comedy club and have a good laugh?
And what about those places that not only have drink minimums but also have the beer drinking contests, all you can drink with price of admission promotions, and the likes? Are we promoting (or even producing) a society that breeds alcoholics? Or at the very least hopes to capitalize on the existence of them?
Check out the video I found on what the UK is doing to combat this issue below.
