Order Of Operations in Florida Addiction Treatment
Posted by: city boy In: Addiction Treatment
Just like there is order of operations in math a quality addiction treatment program should follow a particular order of operations. The first step in addiction treatment should be a quality, medically supervised detoxification. It is essential for this to happen as detox will relieve an addict of any physical cravings that they have for alcohol or drugs. This will allow them to concentrate all their efforts on the psychological aspect of their disease.
Good addiction treatment will have their clients participate in both individual and group therapy. Both of these therapy sessions are equally important and should be taken seriously. Collectively these therapy sessions will offer clients insight as to what is causing their addiction and what a client needs to do stop their addiction.
A quality addiction treatment will put together a continuing care plan for their clients. Continuing care may include plans for a client to go to a halfway house, go to intensive outpatient or continuing to see a therapist on an individual basis. Of course the continuing care plan for everyone will include twelve step meetings on a regular basis.
There are hundreds of addiction treatment programs throughout the country. When looking for one that is suitable for you or someone else the above is a good guideline.
