Is Brock Lesnar’s Bout with Addiction Over?

As the world is still a twitter (smile) with discussions of Tiger Woods and his admittance into a sex rehab, another celebrity with a history of addiction issues is coming back on the scene
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heavyweight superstar Brock Lesnar is back!
Widely remembered at “The Next Big Thing” from the WWE, Lesnar, announced that he would be returning to action by the summer.
Back in 2007 when questioned about his addiction Lesnar had this to say,
“I don’t know, what’s addiction? Did I take too damn many pills? Yeah. Did I drink too much? Yes. Did I become aware that I was drinking and taking too many pills? Yes, I did.”
After a serious case of diverticulitis — an intestinal disease — forced him to twice delay a title defense versus Shane Carwin and ultimately left him hospitalized for weeks and on the sidelines for months, the newest debate is whether Lesnar’s possible use of steroids had any effect of his GI tract. No one at this point has been unable to determine if that is true, there is no question that one use of drugs and abuse of alcohol can lead to fights with the legal systems, violent matches with friends and being taken away from family and friends too soon.
The reality of the situation is that regardless of your talent and your charisma, left untreated addiction can cause great harm to anyone. But for those who make the first step, drug addiction treatment programs can effectively treat any addiction.
