Xanax Withdrawal

Posted by: brian@recoveryconnection.org In: Detox & Withdrawal

Prior to beginning detoxification I was very anxious as to what xanax withdrawal was going to feel like.  I was informed that I would experience severe body aches, depression and possibly even seizures.  I was anticipating an extremely overwhelming experience.  Stopping xanax cold turkey can be a grueling but a medical detox monitored by medical professionals made the detoxification process easy to handle.    A medical staff makes xanax detox very comfortable.  Valium is a common drug that is administered to make xanax withdrawal easy to get through.

As soon as my xanax detox began my mind was put at ease.  The majority of detox facilities will suggest that a client stay for seven days to successfully complete the detox.  Once the detox process was complete my body had no more physical cravings and I did not need to take xanax just so my body would not hurt.

Detoxing from Xanax was an extremely positive experience that yielded positive results.  Now that I no longer suffer from xanax withdrawals and physical cravings I am able to take the necessary steps to make sure I do not start abusing xanax again.

I would not suggest to anyone detoxing from xanax on their own.  A trained medical staff provides the support and comfort to make xanax detoxification a positive experience.  With the help of a medical staff my xanax withdrawal symptoms were minimal.

For anyone who is addicted to xanax I would highly recommend a detox facility and go as far as to say that it is the only way to go in order to minimize the xanax withdrawal.
