Saying no to drugs and alcohol how simple that sounds. For many individuals this isn’t difficult to say yet it is impossible to put into action. Children in elementary school are taught to “Just Say No!” That works if he or she doesn’t have an alcohol or drug addiction problem however, once he or she crosses the line to alcoholism or drug addiction it is too late. People start to drink and drug from peer pressure to watching the role models in his or her life use substances as a way to cope.

The problem exists today, and if he or she doesn’t change the course of events that has caused them to become alcoholic or drug addicted the disease will continue. In 12 step program’s a saying “Nothing Changes If Nothing Changes” is taught to him or her to recognize once he or she puts down the drink or drug if behaviors are not addressed and changed, the person will ultimately pick up a drink or drug again.

Inpatient treatment programs are ideal to help individuals learn what causes them to turn to the drink or drug instead of working through the situation. Inpatient treatment allows the opportunity to lay the foundation to a new way of living. If he or she identifies with this information or knows and individual that needs help with a drinking or drug problem let him or her know help is available. Life was meant to be enjoyed! Allow yourself to have a life beyond your wildest dreams free from alcohol and drugs.

Peer pressure is the problem. Stopping kids from trying drugs is very difficult if they have friends who all dabble.
