Refilling the Spirit, Christian counseling and God!

Posted by: brenda@recoveryconnection.org In: Christian Program

Just knowing about ourselves isn’t enough, Psychologists are turning to religion to refill the spirit.  Faith in God and Christian counseling together can make a difference in our recovery.  Faith is an act of the mind and will.  When we refill the spirit with Christian counseling and God by going to a faith based treatment program we have the opportunity to work on our mind and our will.

Step eleven ” sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understand Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out.”  This is one of the 12 steps that can be applied whether you are in AA, NA or any type of addiction program.  In going to a real Christian treatment program such as A New Life at Lakeview Health in Jacksonville, Florida, you can work on the 12 steps thru Christ in addition to going to church, prayer time and bible study. Each client has a custom tailored recovery plan complete with pastoral counseling.  Not only do they work with us but with our families as well.  At the end of our treatment time we are not just let go, we are sent back to our referring counselor or to a reputable therapist in our community.  ”Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.” Mark 6:31
