Do you want to accept the gift of a wonderful spiritual life?

Posted by: brenda@recoveryconnection.org In: Addiction Treatment| Alcoholism| Christian Program| Detox & Withdrawal| Drug Abuse| Drug Addiction

Have you ever asked yourself the question, do I want a better life?  I know I did!   No one likes to think that we are different from others.  Why can everyone drink but me? We have made countless vain attempts to drink like other people.  But, we are not other people!  It has been proved that no real alcoholic has ever recovered control.  We get worse, not better unless we can admit to ourselves that we need God and the help of a Christian addiction treatment center. If we give the control to him instead of trying to handle it ourselves we can succeed in a full and happy life.  We pray that we accept the gift of a wonderful spiritual life but we must first do what ever it takes to get clean and sober.  When we finally admit to God that we are powerless over alcohol or drugs we have made a fresh beginning.  I know that when I turned my power over to God He took charge and changed how I lived.  I now have great friends that care about me not what I can do for them and a wonderful spiritual life.  God is my higher power without him in my life I would still be isolating and drinking everyday. I still have my ups and downs but I don’t have to do it alone.  I had to admit that I couldn’t do it alone, I needed help from professionals and God.  To just sober up won’t do it, we must work the 12 step program in our everyday lives and serve God. In going to a treatment center that supports the 12 steps thru Christ we can get the tools we need to start a wonderful spiritual life.
