How often have you heard someone talk about procrastination? There isn’t a human being that doesn’t procrastinate in some area of their life at some time in their life. Procrastination is simply putting off doing something you don’t want to do. It could be because you don’t enjoy it or you don’t have the time for it, and so on. Believe it or not procrastination when it comes to addiction kills people.
The idea that he or she has to get help by going to an inpatient treatment center for drug and alcohol addiction is not an option. Or maybe there is an eating disorder or mental illness involved whatever the addiction is or illness is, putting off treatment kills people every day. The alcoholic or addict doesn’t know if the next one is the last one. For the anorexic or bulimic the same holds true.
There is no guarantee for any of us when whatever it is that is our vice will take us to death. Procrastination can be fatal the people around the alcoholic, addict, the person suffering from mental illness or eating disorders. The families are running all over the place trying to get them better yet they themselves won’t even consider inpatient treatment program as a way out. If you can’t do it for yourself do it for someone else who cares about you?
