Is a Christian Addiction Treatment Program for Me?

Posted by: brenda@recoveryconnection.org In: Christian Program

Why was a Christian Addiction Treatment Program for me?  I needed a Christian Addiction Treatment Program because I knew that God was my only answer.  I had tried everything else myself.  Stopping on the weekdays, limiting my drinking to only wine, not going out with the “party” crowd, only drinking socially, not drinking during the day and so on.  A Christian Addiction Treatment Program such as A New Life at Lakeview Health  in Jacksonville, Florida was the only answer, because I knew that my higher power was God.  The first step is to admit  that you have a problem, “We admitted that we were powerless over alcohol-that our lives had become unmanageable.”  The second step is to believe in a power greater than ourselves, which to me is God.  A Christian Addiction Treatment Program was the only answer because I wanted church, prayer time, bible study and pastoral counseling to be a part of my recovery during treatment and after.  Not only do we need the Christian Addiction Treatment Program during our stay in treatment but we also need to continue it throughout our life.  I know that I need to stay focused on what is important to me and that is God. The Christian Addiction Treatment program was a preparation for the life-work that I would be doing, if we have faith our prayers will be answered. I have been sober for a couple of years now and have never been happier.

Since the 12 step program of AA was taken directly from the Bible, I believe that a Christian treatment program would benefit anyone. After all, this program (more effective than all others) came from God’s perfect word.
