I have an old girlfriend who is in jail tonight because of her addiction to Concerta. She has admitted to taking the drug (methalphenaline), prescribed for her son who has ceberal palsey, every day for at least 2-3 years . Her life raged out of control, she has lost her children, who were everything to her, to family and foster care, and she is still in denial, I think, about what her problem is and what it may stem from ... (she was abused by the stepfather as a child ... about the same age10-14) She has gotten into "things I never thought she would be a part of" ......... She has been off the drug for three weeks and is now begging and coercing me to get her out of jail, but so far has not been able to make any serious commitments to recovery... This is all very sad and emotional fo myself and her family ... I do know you women have all the qualities of strength, beauty,self-assuredness, creativity and the like and I hope you will continue to bring them to the top and live life knowing it is meant to be full of Truth, Love, Spirit and Life.
