Coping mechanisms turn into addictions that are hard to break!

A coping mechanism is started as a way for an individual to deal with emotions and feelings they do not like or don’t want to feel. Over a period of time he or she becomes stuck in an addictive pattern of behavior that causes more damage than good. Perhaps you or someone you know has become addicted to alcohol, drugs or food as a way to not feel. When it first started there was relief temporary as it may have been it was a relief however, the line became crossed and the addiction took over.

Maybe family or friends have suggested to him or her they have a problem? Someone at work recognized the behavior on the job had changed? Whatever the reason it is finally brought to the surface for him or her; the time has come to seek out help. Recognizing that he or she needs help is a huge step in recovery, until he or she is aware of the problem there is no moving forward. Freedom from the bondage of alcohol abuse, drug abuse and eating disorder can begin with inpatient treatment program.

If addiction has taken control of your life and you are ready to let go and allow God to take charge then reach out and get help. Many people have been where you are and were able to get to a program and learned hot to live life free from addiction. There are many avenues that one can travel to get help keep putting one foot in front of the other. Be proactive in your recovery. If you have private health insurance there is a good chance you can get into a private inpatient treatment program.
