Mind-body approach to eating disorder’s

Typically an eating disorder affects an individual in three ways body, mind and spirit. If treating only one of these aspects the eating disorder will continue to control your life. How can you tell if you have an eating disorder take an eating disorder quiz? People who don’t have a preoccupation with food don’t usually question it.

Getting help in treating the eating disorder is the only way to get your life back. Family and friends mean well but unless they also suffer from an eating disorder it isn’t possible for them to understand. This is a disease of isolation, separateness it promotes negative thoughts and actions. I have heard individuals say that food controls every thought and action they take.

Eating disorder treatment centers are available and many insurance companies do cover your care. Knowing how to read your benefits is essential in getting the proper use of your benefits. Find an eating disorder treatment program that deals with dual diagnosis so you can address the body, mind and spirit connection. You will be successful in overcoming this part of your life!
