The Acai Berry Diet – The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly

Posted by: jhutt In: Drug Addiction

The latest diet craze, boosted by the publicity of many well-known celebrities, is the Acai Berry diet. The claims are almost too good to be true; increased energy, rapid weight loss, cleansing of the colon. Acai Berry seems to be the be all and end all for so many things including younger looking skin, inflammation reduction, relief for bloating and water retention, simple weight loss and so much more. Unfortunately, the Acai Berry diet is not the answer for those looking for real help with an eating disorder.

The Acai Berry Diet Warning

Many individuals suffering from eating disorders such as binge eating are drawn to diet scams and quick fixes. The Acai Berry diet, along with other fad diets do not deal with the underlying behavioral issues associated with eating disorders. It is important to understand that eating disorders have a psychological component that the Acai Berry diet cannot tackle, no diet can. Treatment for anorexia, bulimia and binge eating go beyond dieting. Those suffering from eating disorders need professional help.

Acai Berry appears to have benefits for those who want to lose a few pounds. But those with a complicated eating disorder need help. Not sure if you have an eating disorder? Check out www.edtreatmentcenters.com for information and help.
