Is it true that smoking weed/skunk/cannabis screws your life up ? damned rite it is. I've seen the change in someone very very close to me with that shit! No motivation no determination, no hopes no dreams, no passsions except when and where am I going to get my next stupid overpriced little bag of nightmare shit. not just nightmares for them in their little bubble life of smoke smoke smoke but nightmares for the people who love them. we see the paranoia, the anger, the hoplessness of the situation, we hear the lies and swallow it because we are powerless about this seductive drug and what it does what can we do ? we watch them year after year hoping a miracle will happen and we will get the person back we watch how they waste their talent, their mind, their body. where is the perosn I used to know and when will they stop? it does screw you up give up npw

i agree that marijuana is very potent today and should be handled in the right way (i.e. not smoking too much when you're only an occasional user) but i DON'T think the effects of ANY type of weed are that long-lasting or permanent. the THC of any given type of marijuana exists in levels able to produce psychoactivity for only a few hours or the duration of the high. the rest is all "in your head," as they say.

mind you, i agree VERY strongly with the idea that you can smoke TOO much. people have ended up in hospitals that way.

i think i have a friend (chronic user) who is in a drug haze--smoking several joints and maintaining a steady flow of high-ness.

this is not to say i don't smoke or haven't smoked; i used to but i find it increasingly gives me more paranoia as i become more sensitive to it. however, i do find that with one or two hits i can be sailing... :)

I am dealing with two people that live away on 25 hidden acres up in Mendocino County in California. I assume the reason for their land up their is that they grow pot - the husband hasn't worked for 30 years except for a yoga studio that caters to a small handful of students - 2-3 day was my experience. It's probably a front for their pot growing business. Anyway, I have to endure the most bizarre attacks against me repeatedly that have all the hallmarks of paranoia. I am accused of scheming against them, talking to people I don't associate with, and all sorts of bizarre stuff. I get long rambling emails written in first, second, third person - they are so bizarre. At this point I can only assume that they are growing and smoking skunk pot. It is sad what is happening to these people - they have destroyed their business and the lives of many people they have come in contact with.

well said shunk does no good what so ever. kids are smoking so young and they dont know the promblems before it get to late and quitting becomes to hard. it get to point where your smoking just to get to sleep only to wake up dizzy with a stone over. if the whole world smoke dope evryone would be to lazy and stupid for any thing to get done. people who smoke it have problems and if you use it to escape your problems you will creat a even worst problem

Oh and I forgot to mention selfishness..part of the whole problem of this self indulgence is yes good old fashioned selfishness. Sitting around getting stoned in your self defined world with its self defined rules and laws.. and when you all talk to people you are so boring, nothing we say has not been said or thought before so don't go believing your thoughts are unique. Reinventing the wheel is so tedious. We are only as smart as we are educted. No doubt you will have a take on my comments..bring it on wiseguys..

To all the silly wankers who can't read because their brains are so f####d up. The guy DID NOT say his friend died of an overdose of pot. One of the symptoms of paranoia is defensive behaviour/denial, and you condoners of Skunk use sure have a huge dose of that condition..grow up, get a life and drink plenty of water to detox your brains...

Thank you for your comment on Skunk Weed. It is not my intent to convince those deeply entrenched in the pot culture to quit using but rather to help those on the fence make an informed choice. See Skunk weed the Sequel.

"KG, We’ve long suspected that cannabis is linked to psychoses, but we have never before had scans to show how the mechanism works,” said Dr. Philip McGuire, a professor of psychiatry at King’s College, London."

Biggest crock of crap I've ever read. No legitimate physician will back this study because it's complete and utter nonsense.
