		<description>&lt;p&gt;Unfortunately, health insurance companies do not recognize sex addiction as an illness. I am a sex addict with a dual diagnosis of bipolar disorder and substance abuse. Since I already used my substance abuse benefits (30 days inpatient), my insurance, Aetna, did not recognize my sex addiction as a valid reason to stay at an inpatient facility when I needed it, even though I still have a 30-day inpatient benefit for mental health reasons. They are only thinking about their &quot;bottom line.” What their close mind does not realize is that my illness is what caused me to become addicted to drugs. As a result, I have visited the emergency room twice this year for my drug use, which has caused the Aetna over $30,000 in payments. This is just one example of how deficient this industry is
