Since I already used my substance abuse benefits (30 days inpatient), my insurance, Aetna, did not recognize my sex addiction as a valid reason to stay at an inpatient facility when I needed it, even though I still have a 30-day inpatient benefit for mental health reasons. They are only thinking about their "bottom line.” What their close mind does not realize is that my illness is what caused me to become addicted to drugs. As a result, I have visited the emergency room twice this year for my drug use, which has caused the Aetna over $30,000 in payments.
