Maryland Residents Leave for Drug Treatment

Posted by: TimRepublic In: Drug Addiction

Maryland drug treatment has been around for many years, but over the last 5-6 years more and more residents have been leaving the area for drug treatment. The main location has been Florida, more specifically Jacksonville, Florida. Baltimore, Maryland had long been the “hotbed” for heroin addiction and individuals seeking drug treatment. These people are some how ending up in Florida drug treatment and remaining in sober living houses in Florida.

Why Jacksonville, Florida for Drug Treatment?
After speaking with several Maryland residents, they say drug treatment in Florida seemed to have more to offer. While drug treatment in Maryland had all of the mainstream services, Florida drug treatment offered in Jacksonville had gay friendly drug treatment, holistic drug treatment and so forth. In addition, it seemed drug treatment in Jacksonville had access to more support services after drug treatment was complete making it easier for discharge planning.

Florida Drug Treatment Programs
The drug treatment programs located in Jacksonville, Florida are called Lakeview Health Systems and Stepping Stone Center for Recovery. Both provide excellent drug treatment, offer comprehensive drug treatment for the gay and lesbian population and holistic drug treatment which people find extremely helpful.
