My Addiction Treatment Experience

I grew up in Baltimore, Maryland and that is where my drug addiction began and grew. Even though th eidea of addiction treatment was brought up by my parents, addiction treatment was the last thing on my mind. All I cared about was having fun, using drugs and running away from my problems. Addiction treatment was for the losers. Addiction treatment was for the people under the bridges or those shooting heroin. Not for me. Well I finally ran out of time, money and energy and surrendered to the idea of addiction treatment. from Baltimore, Maryland to Miami, Florida overnight. What was a “boy” from Baltimore, Maryland doing going to Miami, Florida for drug addiction treatment.

Addiction Treatment Experience

While I was kind of happy to stop the running, because I was exhausted, I was scared to be in drug addiction treatment. I didn’t know anybody and really couldn’t believe my life had come to this, but pretty soon I began to meet people. Drug addiction treatment helpled me to see and accept the truth. Drug addiction treatment allowed me to let go of the past and embrace the present. Addiction treatment gave me my life back.

After completing addiction treatment, i decided not to return to Baltimore, Maryland and remain in Miami, Florida. The support system I developed in drug addiction treatment was in Miami not Baltimore. Also, Florida was alot warmer than Maryland. I have been in drug addiction recovery for over 20 years, my life is wonderful, I think addiction treatment is the best thing that ever happened to me and I still go to drug addiction treatment to speak to the new people entering addiction treatment. I happened to find my addiction program with the addiction treament helpline.
