Alcoholism Helpline Saves Lives

The vast majority of people suffering from alcoholism don’t know where to go for help. For those that might know where alcohol help can be found, they are usually not sure if it is the best alcohol help for them. So how do we find out? Some may call their physician, who usually is not familar with alcoholism help outside their local area and some call AA or go to the internet. The thing is that most people want to speak with someone who has thorough knowledge about alcoholism and where they can receive the help that meets their particular needs.

The Alcohol Helpline

The alcohol helpline or alcoholism helpline was designed years ago as a means for people to locate help for alcoholism anywhere in the United States. Finding help for alcoholism is not as easy as it seems as there are so many factors that must be taken into consideration before choosing your alcohol rehab. First, most every alcohol helpline is toll free and confidential. Secondly, the alcohol addiction helpline should be open 24 hours daily, seven days a week. If a live person doesn’t answer or if you are on hold for a long period of time, I would find another alcohol addiction helpline. The alcohol treatment helpline should also have a data base that the alcohol treatment helpline staff are familar with, which will enable them to make referrals anywhere in the United States. Before making the referral, a professional alcohol helpline will do a thorough evaluation, both clinically and financially so they will know the best alcohol treatment program to refer you to.

The alcoholism helpline I reccomend is 1-800-99-DETOX. The helpline is easy to remember, has a professional staff and can find you help anywhere in the country. For help, call the alcohol addiction helpline NOW.

Not Listening in Alcohol Rehab Can Kill

My drinking was so out of control, but sme how I kept thinking I could stop. It was unbelieveable. I had already amassed three DUI’s, wrecked my car and my wife had moved out. One would think I would seek out an alcohol treatment program, but that was still the farthest thing on my mind. An alcohol treatment program meant stopping alcohol and the thought of living a life without alcohol seemed impossible, but then I got arrested for a hit and run. The judge looked at me and said,”Your choice son”, an alcohol treatment program for a minimum of six weeks or three years in jail. Grudgingly I chose the alcohol treatment program and off I went.

Alcohol Rehabilitation Program

While the alcohol treatment program looked nice enough, alcoho rehab was really tough for me. The alcohol rehab staff kept wanting me to explore my feelings, which I had never done without alcohol. I didn’t realize that alcohol rehabilitation meant doing so much personal work. I just thought alcohol rehabilitation just meant stopping drinking alcohol and everything would be fine. Who knew treatment in alcohol rehab had to do with me taking responsibility for my alcohol abuse. Taking responsility for alcohol abuse was ok for you in the alcohol rehab program, but not me.

I have to be honest, I didn’t listen to anyone in the alcohol rehab program. I wanted to drink more than stay sober. I did what they said in alcohol treatment and completed the alcohol treatment program. After that I started drinking alcohol again, almost immediately. Not long after my alcohol rehabilitation, my doctor told me I developed cirosis of the liver and am waiting for a liver transplant. For those of you in an alcohol treatment program or alcohol rehab, listen to the staff or you could end up with me.

If you need an alcohol rehab program for alcohol rehabilitation call the alcohol treatment helpline at 1-800-99-DETOX.

The Drug Detox Program That Saw Me As An Individual

The drug detox promised me plenty of medication so I wouldn’t feel the pain. It wasn’t true. No matter how much medication they gave me at the detox program, I was still dope sick. The detox program made all these promises to relieve withdrawal symptoms, but I still felt miserable. After I completed the detox program, which I believe was five days, they sent me to an outpatient program and meetings and within four weeks, I was looking for another drug detox program.

Different Types of Detox Programs

This drug detox was much different than the other detox program. They refused to just give me medication when I wanted it, but they did manage my detox symptoms, as well as, the other detox program. Not only that, but at discharge, they encouraged me to transition right to a drug rehab program. The drug detox staff met with me and explained in great detail why I should go on to rehab. They also called my family in, with my consent, and expained why a detox program wasn’t treatment and only managed my medical problems. I went on to rehab and to this day am glad I made the decision. I am equally grateful that the staff at the drug detox program took the time to look at me as an individual.

If you are looking for a detox program for drug addiction or alcohol addiction, call 1-800-99-DETOX.

Maryland Residents Look Towards Florida Drug Rehab

After two drug overdoses I finially relented and told my parents that I would go to rehab somewhere. Being from Baltimore, Maryland we began looking for a drug rehab in Maryland. Many of my friends had gone to addiction treatment in Maryland, but if I was using with them again, how good a drug rehab could it have been.

Maryland Addiction Treatment

As we began looking for an addiction treatment program in Maryland I was sure of two things; the drug addiction treatment program needed to have a great drug detox and had to be longer than your typical 28 day drug addiction treatment program. WHile we seemed to find alot of adiction treatment in Maryland with drug detox, there were very few drug rehabs that were longer than 28 days and further still, you had to spend the entire time in treatment inside of the drug addiction treatment program. That was not the type of addiction treatment program I was I was looking for so we looked all over maryland until I met an drug rehabilitation specialist who reccomended a Florida drug rehab where he said his patients had experienced alot of success. The Florida drug rehab was called Stepping Stone Center for Recovery and was located in Jacksonville, Florida. All I could say was, Jacksonville, Florida, are you crazy.

Addiction Treatment in Florida

Well I called this Florida addiction treatment program in Jacksonville and I really got scared after speaking with the helpline staff because I loved everything they had to say. This drug addiction treatment program had its own drug detox with board certified physicians and 24 hour nursing. In addition to that after being in addiction treatment program for a few weeks, they had their own recovery apartments you could live in during addiction treatment. This was cool and was so impressed with the helpline staff and drug rehab program I was on a plane the next day.

Addiction Recovery in Florida

I have since finished my Florida drug rehab and decided to stay in Florida for my aftercare. The addiction recovery in Florida is great, even in Jacksonville ( that is a joke ). I spoke to my addiction recovery counselor and they suggested that I remain in Florida and that some time in the near fture I would be better prepared for a trip back to Maryland. In addition to this, I had a chance to meet the drug rehab helpline staff that helped me to get to rehab. They were great and so is my recovery.

If you were like me, call the drug rehab helpline before you get as sick as I was. The drug rehab helpline number is 1-800-99-DETOX and it didn’t cost a thing to call the helpline or for the helpline staff to evaluate my situation. I lived in Maryland for a long time, but Florida is my home now. Call the Helpline Today.
