Drug Detox and My Recovery

Posted by: jhutt In: Drug Addiction

I went to drug detox about 2 years ago and thank God I chose the drug detox program I did. The detox program at Lakeview saved my life. I had so many medical problems and was using so much dope and drinking I thought I was going to get so sick, but they made it easy. The physician at Lakeview gave me meds to deal with the drug withdrawal which made the detoxification tolerable. Nursing was always around and really cared about my recovery.

I hope I never use drugs again because I never want to go through drug detox another time. I spent 7 days in the drug detox program and that was enough for me because next they reccomended extended drug addiction treatment. I am kidding. The best thing about detox was the therpists. Many of them were in addiction recovery and had been throught detox in the past. They could relate to everything I was going through. the drug detox staff just kept telling me that each day I would feel a little better and they were right.

Today I take meetings to a drug detox to provide the patients there with support. All I can say is that you only have to go throughdrug detox once if you do it right. If they tell you to go to drug addiction treatment after detox, just go. They only want what is best for you.

If you want Lakeview’s drug detox you can call 1-800-511-9225 or if you want another drug detox program you can call the drug detox helpline at 1-800-99-DETOX. There is staff at the detox helpline 24 hours a day just as they are at Lakeview. For help, call them NOW!
