Dual Disorders Identified in North Carolina Drug Detoxification Program

This can be the co-existance of a psychiatric disorder along with a drug addiction or an eating disorder, compulsive gambling or other associated disorders. The ability to correctly identify the dual disorder and then refer the patient for the proper dual diagnosis treatment can make the difference between relapse and recovery. New Jersey drug Addiction Treatment

Drug Addiction Treatment in New Jersey has had keep up with the times over the lat several years due to the increased reporting of opiate addiction. Opiate addiction has grown tremendously, with most of the opiates coming from New York, Washington and Maryland. With New York, New Jersey, Washington DC and Maryland all being located within close proximity of each other, transporting drugs across state lines is quite easy.

Florida Halfway Houses

The same holds true in the states of New Jersey, Washington and Maryland, while most of those individuals accessing opiate addiction treatment, require longer term care and a supportive recovering environment to return to. It seems that Florida has many more halfway houses that the other states so many of the patient’s treated in opiate detox or drug rehab are being referred to Florida halfway houses for longer term support. The halfway houses in Florida usually keep their residents for a minimum of three months.

When a person completes their stay in a Florida halfway house, they can either move into the community or return home if they have a supportive environment. Drug Addiction Treatment, Drug Detox and Their Relationship

Drug addiction treatment needs to contain its own drug detox program. If drug addiction treatment is not available with its own drug detox then patients will have to be sent to another drug detox for detoxification and then hopefully be referred back for addiction treatment.. Unfortunately, this type of drug treatment program design does not work very well. We can’t begin to tell you how many people do not make it back to the drug addiction treatment program after drug detox and end up in relapse.

Why People Don’t Make It Back to Drug Addiction Treatment From Detox

The problem with sending people out of their addiction treatment program for detox is the relationship that is lost with their primary treatment program. People tend to bond with the program providing the initial care and often do not want to change therapists after they have begun their addiction treatment in detox.

Secondly, a dynamic that takes place in almost every drug detoxification program is when an individual begins to feel better in a detox program; they begin to feel they do not require ongoing drug addiction treatment. The illusion that sets in is that they can recover on their own and decide not to transition back to the original drug treatment center.
A quality drug addiction treatment program or treatment center will have its owm medical detox program capable of providing each patient with medical stabilization and management of their withdrawal symptoms. The drug detox should be managed by a physician trained in addiction medicine and be complete with 24 hour nursing.

To locate a drug addiction treatment program with a drug dtox program manged by an elite medical team you can call the national drug detoxification helpline at 1-800-99-DETOX or the national addiction helpline at 1-800-511-9225.
