Drug Rehab in Florida and Heroin Addiction

Posted by: jhutt In: Drug Addiction

Connecticut was a wonderful place to grow up. I could easily visit friends in Massachuesettes, New York and New Jersey. It was great. It was even better when I developed a heroin addiction because now I could travel to those states to distribute heroin to support my habit. Almost all the heroin I got came from Baltimore, Maryland area so after I picked it up it was an easy drive to Jersey, then New York and over to Boston, Massachuesettes. The only problem was that over time my heroin addictio escalated and I could no longer make the drive, so I began stealing to make money and ended up in jail. They gave me a choice, 4 years in prison or attend drug addiction treatment. Stupid I am not, I chose drug addiction treatment.

Heroin Addiction Treatment and Recovery

I stayed in treatment for heroin addiction for alost three months. It wasn’t fun, but it was the best thing I had ever done. Rather than choose addiction treatment in New York, Jersey or Connecticut, I knew I needed to leave the area if I was going to recover. So, off to a Florida drug rehab I went. It was great. My brain began to clear and I made new friends. Being in Florida wasn’t bad either. I mean if you have to be in rehab, a Florida rehab sounded better than a drug rehab in Maryland or Connecticut in the winter.

Long story short, I am three years clean from my heroin addiction and I am grateful to Steeping Stone Center for Recovery. You can call 1-800-99-DETOX for addiction help. Don’t wait until you are in trouble like me, get addiction help now.
