Sex Addiction Treatment and More
Sex addiction, I am still not sure is an addiction, but my lack of restraint and judgement in this area sure got me in trouble alot. It also seemed like alot of my promiscuous sexual behavior was done under the influence of crystal meth or some other drug. After years of recovery I understand it really doesn’t matter if sex addictyion is an addiction or not, but that I could not continue that behavior and still live a sober life. The chances or relapse were just too great.
Sex addiction treatment seemed like a bit of a stretch for me, so I located a drug treatment center, that was able to provide me with detox, addiction treatment and sex addiction treatment. For me it turned out that my sex addiction was just another way to deal with feelings I had that I didn’t care for and create more shame and guilt in my life. Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t that easy and yes it was much more complicated. The point is I was able to deal with my sex addiction within a drug treatment program. For this I am grateful.
