Loritab Addiction Treatment and Drug Rehab

It goes without saying that my Loritab addiction was killing me. I was eating close to 20 pills a day and washing them down with JW Black. A deadly combination yes, but it got me where I wanted to go. Unfortunately one place I didn’t want to go was an Emergency Room in Baltimore, Maryland. While I was born in Baltimore, Maryland I had no plans to die there. So off I went to a drug rehab in Baltimore and from thre off I went right back into my Loritab addiction.

It wasn’t until many years later after another long run, that I ended up in Jacksonville, Florida. God knows how I got there, but Loritab and Johnny Walker will do that to you. Not to mention all the other opiates I could find. I had lost most everything but my parents were willing to go one more bout with a drug rehab. this time I went into a drug rehab in Jacksonville, Florida. I don’t think it mattered it was in Florida or Maryland. This time I was ready. I was tired of the same old game and I didn’t particularly like ending up in rehab each time either.

Today, 13 years clean, I look back on those days and don’t regret a thing. Maybe because I don’t remember many opf them but also because my life is so great today. If you are hooked on an addiction to Loritab or any opiate addiction, call a drug rehab now, for help. Drug rehab help is just is closer than you think. You can call the national helpline NOW at 1-800-99-DETOX and they will find you some help.

Sex Addiction Treatment and More

Sex addiction, I am still not sure is an addiction, but my lack of restraint and judgement in this area sure got me in trouble alot. It also seemed like alot of my promiscuous sexual behavior was done under the influence of crystal meth or some other drug. After years of recovery I understand it really doesn’t matter if sex addictyion is an addiction or not, but that I could not continue that behavior and still live a sober life. The chances or relapse were just too great.

Sex addiction treatment seemed like a bit of a stretch for me, so I located a drug treatment center, that was able to provide me with detox, addiction treatment and sex addiction treatment. For me it turned out that my sex addiction was just another way to deal with feelings I had that I didn’t care for and create more shame and guilt in my life. Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t that easy and yes it was much more complicated. The point is I was able to deal with my sex addiction within a drug treatment program. For this I am grateful.

If you are looking with help for sex addiction or compulsive sexual behavior you might want to call the addiction helpline at 1-800-511-9225 and they may be able to refer you to a program that can help.

Alcohol Detox and Alcoholism Treatment

Treatment for Alcoholism

Alcohol detox is the initial step a person must take to ensure safety during the withdrawal phase for the treatment of alcoholism. Alcohol detox should be provided in a medical detoxification setting to provide adequate medical care for the patient. Withdrawal is the term used to describe the body’s reaction to the removal of the alcohol it has become dependent upon. Detox must be the first step because until the physical dependancy issue is taken care of, no other form of alcohol treatment will work. Withdrawal will cause such craving that they will make it impossible for the patient to concentrate on their recovery. Through a combination of a detox medications and support staff, the alcohol detox process can be made safe and comfortable.

The goal of any reputable alcohol detox program is to fully prepare the individual physically and mentally so that he or she may be able to participate in the educational and therapeutic process of alcoholism treatment. Alcohol detox can be defined as a period of medically monitored treatment, where a person is helped to overcome their physical dependence on alcohol. Until the detox process is complete, someone is simply not ready for recovery. Therefore, the ultimate goal of detox is freedom from alcoholism and an evaluation for the appropriate type of alcohol treatment necessary to maintain long term recovery.

Signs of Alcohol Withdrawal

These can range from mild to quite severe. Mild reactions to alcohol detox can include tremors (the shakes), headaches, vomiting, perspiration, restlessness, lose of appetite and insomnia. More serious effects of alcohol detox can be Delirium Tremens (DT’s), autonomic hyperactivity and seizures (convulsions). It has been estimated that 1 in 4 patients are at high risk of a withdrawal seizure if not medically treated during alcohol detox. Physical addiction to alcohol occurs in consistent drinkers.
