Drug Rehab Provides the Ultimate in Drug Addiction Treatment Services

Drug rehab centers all over the United States claim their drug rehab provides the best treatment. While we know that is not really the case, we do want to know which drug rehab provides the best drug addiction treatment services for ourselves. Drug rehab is not just about drug detox and drug treatment. This type of treatment just focuses on the symptoms and not the “true” causes of the drug addiction. Unfortunately, most of the drug rehabs seem to fall into this category.

One drug rehab I came across seemed to have taken treatment to another level. This treatment center seems to provide drug addiction treatment services for adults, dual diagnosis treatment, gay addiction treatment, a family program and every physician is board certified. Their entire focus was to address the underlying cause of the drug addiction and work towards helpiong the patient manage the triggers that led to their drug use.

I was even more impressed in their ability to treat each patient as an individual. truly assessing each patients needs and then developing a plan to meet them. Every single patient had a case manager who responsibility it was to make sure the addiction treatment plans were being worked on and continually being adjusted. Therapy was being provided by licensed therapists not just people in recovery. While most were in recovery also, it was great to see recovering people who had become educated in the art of psychiatric and mental health issues and the best way to treat them.

I am purposely not mentioning the drug treatment program as I don’t want this to seem to much like an advertisement, but I will include a link. A drug addiction treatment helpline I always refer people to who are looking for help is 1-800-99-DETOX, so I felt I would also make that available to readers.

Alcoholism – Denial Is Not a River in Egypt

Alcoholism has finally been recognized as a disease by the American Medical Association and as such, is characterized by an intense craving for alcohol and continued drinking in spite of negative consequences. For years people thought alcoholics were doomed to a life of misery followed by death, when today alcohol rehab programs save lives everyday.

One of the key components when dealing with an alcoholic is their denial. While we may see every reason in the world for them to quit drinking, the alcoholic has this built in ability to minimize and rationalize almost any situation in order to appear in control of the alcohol. Even when the individual checks into alcohol rehab, many remain in denial of their ability to return to social drinking once the worse is over.

Breaking through a person’s denial can happen through an intervention prior to alcohol treatment or through the use of various therapeutic techniques once in alcohol treatment. The key is that the denial is recognized as part of the disease process and we do not allow ourselves to become frustrated with a person’s insight into their problem.

Alcoholism is treatable and many people do recover. Unfortunately, many do not take alcohol rehab as seriously as they need to and relapse is waiting for them. If you are looking to an alcohol treatment center for the treatment of alcoholism, you can go to 1-800-99-DETOX, a national alcoholism helpline and they will locate a rehab for you.

Drug Detox and Looking For the Easy Way Out

Drug Detox Is the Easy Way

Drug Detox is a process in which person’s addicted to drugs or alcohol are medically cleansed of the toxins created by those substances. Detoxification, or detox for short, is almost always the first step in the drug rehabilitation process for many addicts and alcoholics. Before addicts and alcoholics can be admitted to drug and alcohol treatment, they must first complete the drug detox process. There are many different forms of detoxification depending on the substance of dependence and the severity of the addiction. However, there are some drugs that do not require drug detoxification such as methamphetamines, cocaine, and marijuana. The abuse of these drugs can result in a very serious psychological dependence, which requires intense therapy and sometimes monitoring, but not medical detox. Other drugs like heroin, alcohol, and many prescription medications like barbiturates and benzodiazepines create not only a psychological, but a serious physical dependence, requiring medical detoxification.

People suffering from drug addiction and alcoholism often look for the easy way out. They are scared to experience the uncomfortability of drug withdrawal, scared to live a life without drugs or alcohol and would rather do anything except to go to addiction treatment. Drug detox is the easy way. Could it possibly be worse than the life you are currently experiencing. With the medications available in addiction treatment the pain associated with drug withdrawal is not nearly what it used to be. In some situations, the drug detox is only slightly uncomfortable.

To locate a drug detox in your area or a center providing state of the art addiction treatment, you can call 1-800-99-DETOX.

Florida Alcohol Rehab Develops Addiction Treatment For The Family

When a person checks into a Florida alcohol rehab they generally believe that if they deal with their own alcoholism and drug addiction that is all they have to do. What they rarely realize is what dealing with their alcoholism or drug addiction really means. A credible Florida alcohol rehab should be looking to provide comprehensive rehab to the family unit, not just the patient. Not every Florida rehab does.

By comprehensive family treatment we mean a rehab that provides four to five days of thorough therapy to address the issues within the family system. This should encompass family issues prior to alcoholism, during and in sobriety. An alcohol rehab, whether they are located in New Jersey, Georgia, Connecticut or Minnesota that does not provide this type of family component is missing a significant aspect of alcohol rehabilitation. Without addressing the issues that lie within the family, the person is that much closer to relapse. You can almost refer to family treatment as a relapse prevention program.

A statement referring to family treatment as relapse prevention is even closer to the truth when the patient completing an alcohol rehab in Florida is returning to live with his or her family unit. The ability to communicate feelings, develop boundaries and establish relationships is key to the alcohol recovery process. Alcoholism treatment can be a wonderful process and the family can be restored, but it doesn’t happen without work.

To locate a alcohol rehab in Florida with a quality and effective family recovery program you can call the Florida addiction helpline at 1-800-511-9225.
