Maryland Drug Rehabs See Need for Dual Diagnosis Treatment Programs

Maryland drug rehab programs have long been providing heroin addiction treatment, opiate addiction treatment and prescription medication detox for years. In Baltimore, Maryland there has been a tremendous rise in heroin addiction to be followed by other forms of opiate addiction. Understandably, these drug rehabs have placed their focus on drug addiction treatment.

Over time, Maryland drug rehabs have begun to see a high prevalence of depression associated with the drug addiction treatment they have been providing. It also meant a reliance on a psychiatrist when in the past, they were only viewed as a necessary evil. Today, we have come to recognize the value of the psychiatrist trained in addiction medicine.

It is important to understand the impact of drugs on mental state of patients. These people need help, and it is great to know that rehabilitation centers like this exist. We hope for best, and I am sure the importance of preventative measures against drug addiction will be fully recognized in our society.
