Posted by: Nsx In: Drug Addiction
How can I find what I’m looking for?
Recovery Connection will help you locate the information and/or resource you are looking for. This may be located on our web site, an outside source on the Internet or through a contact phone number. We will do our best to assist you in getting the information you need. Just remember that we are available on-line but also off-line. You can call our counselors at anytime. This is a free confidential service we provide nationwide.
Do you provide addiction treatment or counseling for drug abuse at Recovery Connection.org?
We do not provide addiction treatment per se. We are set-up as a National resource for information, articles, and referrals. By searching/surfing our web site, (whether your problem is alcohol or drugs) you should be able to find drug rehab centers and addiction treatment programs for the help you are seeking.
Is there anyone I can talk to about my situation?
Definitely!!! You may contact us by calling the number that appears throughout our website (1-800-993-3869), perhaps you just need to talk to an understanding person in confidentiality about your alcohol or drug problem. We are here for you. Sometimes we can get overwhelmed and need to vent. In any of these cases, the staff at Recovery Connection is there for you. Most of us are in alcohol and drug recovery ourselves and we love to help.
I need help now!!! What do I do?
First thing is to pat yourself on the back for wanting to help yourself. We absolutely commend you on this!!! Next is to understand some of the hard realities of the situation you have gotten yourself into. We are going to be totally honest with you here, but keep in mind that there is help available, you’ll just have to start getting into the mindset that it is going to take some work on your part to get that help- If you want the help and want to get addiction treatment you will do what you need to do to get it, right? It is true, that life may not be fair, may not be right, but it is reality. Some people have spent years living the alcoholic and drug addicted lifestyle, and then all of a sudden they are sick of the consequences- guess what? Just because you have decided to stop does not mean the world and the places for help are going to reach out to help you. Keep in mind that resources are few, money is tight, and you are in the fight- the fight for your life. DO NOT GIVE UP!!! The disease wants you to give up hope. Now what? Please call 1-800-993-3869 to recover control of your life.
I need help with my recovery?
Don’t we all? Recovery Connection has set up some special pages to deal with just recovery issues. We suggest you check out our website or Blog for more information. Maybe you should subscribe to our Alcohol and Drug Recovery newsletter. We mail it out almost every month and it’s totally free.
Why Alcoholism and Drug Addiction called family diseases?
It is called a family disease because the alcoholic/addict is obsessed with finding and doing their drug of choice, and the family is obsessed with the problem. Recovery Connection has produced a series of articles to help with the problem. Soon we will provide videos online.
I need to find information on drugs/treatment/halfway houses?
You can find information on drugs: what they look like, slang terms, paraphernalia, etc. at “Drug Information“. You can find treatment centers at: “Find a Drug Rehab”. We will soon implement a tool to find information on Halfway Houses meanwhile you can call us and we might be able to give you a few numbers you can call.
How can I keep my kids off drugs?
Recovery Connection has set up a prevention section with useful material and resources for you to tap into beginning with, “Addiction Prevention” and you can partner with us to help us prevent this terrible disease. Download and print material and spread the world. The best we can do is get informed and inform others about the risk of substance abuse and how alcoholism and drug addiction are diseases and not moral failures. Remember that our phone number is one of the best resources you can give someone facing problems with alcohol or drugs.
Addiction is not a moral failure, it is a treatable disease. Recovery Connection 1-800-993-3869.
