A Way out of Alcohol and Drugs

Posted by: Nsx In: Drug Addiction

Alcoholism and drug addiction can be devastating to individuals and family members. Almost everyone knows someone affected by this disease. Statistics show that 10% of the American population needs treatment for substance abuse or chemical dependency.

At www.recoveryconnection.org you will be able to find information on a wide variety of addictions and addiction treatment. Please remember that finding the right drug and alcohol rehab program is critical for long term recovery. Feel free to contact us by calling our 24 hour addiction treatment center at anytime if you have any questions or need guidance for yourself or a loved one.

Denial to accept their problem and ignorance of their situation are two of the worst barriers in getting across to addicts and getting them on the road to healthy and productive living. Sometimes a drug and alcohol intervention is necessary to convince the individual he or she needs to get help.

Alcoholics or drug addicts can undertake the drug and alcohol rehabilitation process and free themselves from the cycle of drug abuse that prevents them from truly living a rewarding life. Long term drug and alcohol recovery is possible using the proper clinical approach. By addressing the underlying issues driving the addiction and getting the body back into shape physically, drug rehabilitation gives people the long term skills they need to live a drug and alcohol free life. Addiction treatment can give them the ability to achieve a normal sense of well being without using drugs or alcohol.

To locate a drug rehab or an alcohol rehab, you can either click on one of the links or call the national addiction treatment helpline at 1-800-99-DETOX to locate the right addiction treatment center for you or your loved one. For additional information about alcoholism, drug addiction, or associated disorders please go to, www.recoveryconnection.org.

I think in most cases of addiction, interventions are really needed. Like what was already mentioned in the post, most addicts are in denial about their current state. Some are even unaware of their addiction unless someone makes an intervention. In my opinion, interventions should be done by people who matter most to the individual who desperately needs addiction treatment.
